A tetracycline that might be worth looking at as a potentially effective oral antibiotic treatment for acne is doxycycline. Doxycycline is used in the treatment of inflammatory acne as well as other bacterial infections, which includes respiratory tract infections like pneumonia, dermatological and genito-urinary infections, anthrax exposure, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus, cholera, brucellosis, and syphilis. It is also effective in the prevention of malaria.
