Doxycycline is used in the treatment of inflammatory acne as well as other bacterial infections, which includes respiratory tract infections like pneumonia, dermatological and genito-urinary infections, anthrax exposure, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus, cholera, brucellosis, and syphilis. It is also effective in the prevention of malaria.
